"Pompeii was an ancient city located in what is now the comune of Pompei near Naples in the Campania region of Italy. Pompeii, along with Herculaneum and many villas in the surrounding area (e.g. at Boscoreale, Stabiae), was buried under 4 to 6 m (13 to 20 ft) of volcanic ash and pumice in the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79."

The city was completely covered in a thick layer of volcanic ash, and was eventually rediscovered in the eighteenth century. Since then, much of the city has been excavated and conserved. Today, you can visit Pompeii and see the sites as they were during the eruption, as well as explore the Roman-era architecture and learn about the daily life of the inhabitants. The buildings and their contents reveales day-to-day life in the ancient world. You can feel history while walking along a empty streets.

Day 2 - Karpacz Area

Few points of interest for sightseeing.

Perla Zachodu - rustic korchma (restaraunt)

Zapora i Elektrownia - (Hydroelectric power plant)

Bolkow Castle

First day in Karpacz was planned to explore area and visit some places for sightseeing in relaxing pace. First destination in our list was Zapora Pilchowice (Dam with hydroelectric power plant). and after breakfast headed to Pilchowice. Its very picturesque area, next to dam there is also little tavern. You can easily spend few hours here if decided to walk around or if lucky, visit plant at the bottom.

After Dam we want to visit recommended inn with amazing view on rock's top with vintage style restaurant. Time was slowly coming to launch and we were ready to visit next place in our list.

Perla Zachody (The Pearl of the West),

This place is often used for wedding, various events and located on steep bank above the Bobr river. With rustic country style ambience it was perfect spot to relax, eat tasty food and enjoy time.

Next in our list was Bolkow Castle, situated about 40 km from us. Every year in summer, in July, castle host one of the largest dark independent festival in Central Europe -Bolkow Castle Party. Music and costumes, food and merchandise, Check our page here for more information and idea.

This adventures took pretty much whole day. As mentioned before, one of the thing I like in Poland is a food. It's a "home made" food with price tag of MacDonald's in Canada, but with quality and taste much above. We spent evening sitting outside, listen music and enjoy atmosphere of full serenity and summer vibes. We stumbled on open air dance square and had some fun before going sleep.

Day 3 - Hiking to Sniezka Peak

This day was reserved for some adventure and hike to Sniezka (Snow Mountain), one of the highest peak at Karkonosze (Giant Mountains) with 1603m above sea level. It shares border with Czech and is an popular tourist destination any time of season and belong to Crown of Sudetes. You can get there either from Polish or Czech side, which is more longer way.

To get on top from Polish side you need take chair lift (2 person) from Kopa Karpacz to Kopa Top Station and then hike about 2.5 km to Sniezka ). Weather was little bit gloomy that day with some rain expectations but it didn't stop us from adventure. Chair lift takes about 20 minutes while you can enjoy vista on your way up.

The hike to Sniezka is relatively easy and flat, Though to get on actual summit be prepare for some effort to walk little bit steep path. But scenery is absolutely beautiful and worth it. With numerous stop to take photos it took about 1- 1.5 hour to reach peak from lift station. From top you can also overview Lower Silesian towns and villages rested in a valley. Whole journey from bottom of station and back took about 4 hours.

Rest of the day went strolling in town and another dinner in restaurant.

Just to mentioned, place we stayed had also kitchen and fridge, so for breakfast we had food from local "Zabka" convenience store..

Day 4 - Transfer to Zakopane

We wanted to have more time in Polish Tatra and in a morning we headed to famous Zakopane. On a way we planned stop in Wroclaw, old town with colorful mosaic of architectural styles and rich heritage. Before WWII city was German Breslau in Silesia and with its 12 islands and 120 bridges, the city on the river Odra is often dubbed the "Venice of Poland."

Since we had our accommodation already booked at Zakopane, we had enough time to sit and enjoy launch at Sphinx restaurant patio overlooking cobblestone Market Square and then stroll around city center, taking pictures and sightseeing.

Drive from Wroclaw to Zakopane is about 5 hours, so after 5pm we took off toward a Krakow and further to Zakopane.

Zakopane is a center of Goral culture and is often referred to as "the winter capital of Poland”. It is a popular destination for mountaineering, skiing, and tourism in summer as well

Our accommodation was Willa Tatiana, stylish, family own hotel, close to Zakopane center. We arrived quite late, tired, and took rest to have more energy for next day.

Piwnica Świdnicka is situated next to the Town Hall on Wrocław’s market square and has been cited in some documents as the oldest restaurant in Europe! It having been established in 1273!

The name comes from the nearby city of Świdnica, from which beer was delivered to the restaurant in the Middle Ages.

Day 5 - Gubalowka

One of the popular tourist attractions in Zakopane is Gubalowka, mountain above a town and connected with few funicular and chair lift (on Butorowy Wierch). Gubalowka offering scenic views of the Tatras and Zakopane with endless number of attractions and entertainment.

We spent whole day there and stayed to watch amazing sunset over Tatras, There is a numbers of chair setup for this similar to cinema in open air. At any time the view on mountains i stunting. You can see all main peaks without any obstructions.

Day 6 -Kasprowy Wierch

Kasprowy Wierch is one of the popular destination in Tatras and best is buy tickets for funicular online in advance. Even with that it took us about 2.5 hour staying in line just to get into wagon. But it was worth it. You can also hike on top, but it will take much more time and effort.

The view from top of Kasprowy Wierch is majestic. Check place for more photos and information here.

Day 7-8 - Zakopane and Morskie Oko

Another popular attraction and destination is Morskoe OKo. You cant miss that one and we took one day of from active adventures and spent time to stroll around, relax time in town, and headed to Morsko Oko next day. After you reach parking lot you can either walk or ride by horses.

Its hard to predict weather in mountains and while we started in sunny morning, time we got to destination we had much fog covering top of the mountains. Riding by horse wagon took about 20-30 minutes but much people walk,

It was nice time, too short but much memories.

We wanted to visit Welichka Salt mines on a way but apparently you need book well in advance, all nearest dates was already fully booked.

We didn't have time on our way to Zakopane stop at Krakow but on a way back we must visit Krakow.

Built at the behest of King Casimir III the Great, it consists of a number of structures from different periods situated around the Italian-styled main courtyard. The castle, being one of the largest in Poland, represents nearly all European architectural styles of medieval, renaissance and baroque periods.

"The Garden of Future Follies is a sculpture garden that brings together elements from over 80 existing public sculptures and architectural details from around the City of Toronto. To create the garden, fragments of existing Toronto sculpture were cast using a Cinefoil casting technique – pressing material directly onto a sculpted surface – to generate over 150 unique impressions that were subsequently cast in bronze. The resulting sculptural collage invites visitors to imagine their own configurations as they visit not only the Garden of Future Follies, but also other sites around the city, inspiring acts of co-creation beyond a single site."

The Cathedral Church of St. James

The Cathedral Church of St. James is an Anglican Gothic Revival cathedral in Downtown Toronto, It was built in 1853 and considering one fo the oldest in a city. The cathedral's bell was used as a fire bell for the town.

At 92.9 metres (305 ft), the tower and spire have remained the tallest in Canada and the second tallest in North America after St. Patrick's Cathedral, New York—although the spire of St. James is still shorter than the dome of Saint Joseph's Oratory in Montreal, which is the tallest church in the Western Hemisphere. The tower has five bells that still ring through the city today, and the chiming clock is "one of the finest examples of a chiming public clock anywhere in the world." At the turn of the 20th century, St James' Cathedral was still the tallest building in Toronto, -Wikipedia

The fully professional 18-voice cathedral choir sings at the Eucharist (11:00 am) and Evensong (4:30 pm) each Sunday. The cathedral's pipe organ can be heard in recitals each Tuesday at 1:00 pm and Sunday at 4:00 pm throughout the year.

The church is mainly built with Georgetown rubble stone with facings of Ohio stone, with the occasional reddish brown freestone found in the neighborhood of Queenston Heights. The columns of finely polished red granite are from the Bay of Fundy coast.

Cathedral is excellent backdrop for photos and great place to visit while you are in Toronto.

Popular city green space near waterfront with many landmarks. Inspired by the Ontario landscape itself, the park was designed in consultation with people from across Ontario, including First Nation. Here you can find many beautiful views on a lake and downtown core. Close to water there is a fire pit, making good spot to relax and enjoy your time at summer nights.

Dark independent festival, Castle Party is one of the biggest gothic rock festivals in Europe; for four days this summer, Bolków Castle will turn into a huge masquerade filled with thousands of costumed gothic rock/metal enthusiasts. For more than 20 years, it has been the undisputed rendezvous for gothic, dark wave, electro-indus and metal fauna of Central Europe.

"Polish fans are still the largest group, but a quick walk amongst the Victorian vampires, the SM cyber nurses, the medieval blacksmiths, the post-nuclear vamps and all other enthusiastic festival aficionados, you will overhear German, Czech and English revealing the international nature of the event."

"Bolków Castle is a castle located in Bolków on the Castle Hill (Polish: Wzgórze Zamkowe), with a 396 metres, where the hillside is cut by the Nysa Szalona river"

The Bolków Castle was built during the reign of Prince Bolko I. It was rebuilt several times afterwards until assuming its current form in the 16th century. In all historical descriptions of the castle, its military significance is emphasised; however, it has also functioned as a cultural centre during certain periods of time, attracting painters, sculptors, and architects. Poles, Germans, and Czech people mingled here, contributing to the emergence of the unique Silesian culture.

Chedoke Falls is located in the middle of the city on the top of the escarpment. There is no safe access to the bottom of the falls from the top of the escarpment.

There is a rough, and very steep trail, that descends the west side of the gorge. I personally would not recommend descending this trail. The longer, and safer (but not necessarily safe) approach is to start at the Chedoke Radial Trail and work your way up the gorge. You have to get over the lower falls, which is not easy, and clamber over a few rocks. It is a good workout. The Chedoke Radial trail can be accessed at the end of Dundurn street. Head east on the trail, and you will soon reach Chedoke Creek. Several other seasonal waterfalls can be seen from the Chedoke Radial Trail.

There is a second waterfall next to Chedoke Falls. I have seen this called "Chedoke Falls East" and "Denlow Falls". This is another culvert falls, and from the look of it, the falls only exists because they decided to send a drainage pipe into the gorge.

Some facts

"The cave system includes a series of 12 caves, which is one of the most extensive networks in Ontario. Within the caves is a prominent feature called flowstone, which over many years is created by flowing water that deposits a type of calcium carbonate called calcite.

Another feature at Rockwood are the potholes. Within the conservation area, there is over 200 potholes that all vary in measurements. These potholes are also known as giant's kettles, which are large cavities that have been drilled by flowing water carrying stones and gravel.

As well, glacial bluffs are seen at Rockwood. These have been formed over thousands of years after the earth’s most recent ice age ended. They can be relatively small and get as large as 30 meters deep and 200 meters wide."

The caves are a popular attraction and include stalactites, columns and flowstone. They are fun to explore, however flashlight, helmet, long sleeve pants and long sleeve shirts are suggested. The caves are not accessible to the public between October 16 and March 31 to protect bats while they hibernate.

You can view natural wonders from hiking trails on both sides of the Eramosa River or in a rented canoe.

Canoes, kayaks and paddle boats are available to be rented.

Rockwood is a favourite location for corporate picnics, family reunions, professional film and photo shoots.

The Pavilion, a large chalet-style shelter, overlooks the beach. It is a day-use only facility with no alcohol permitted. Contact park staff to make a reservation for this facility.

The town of Amalfi is located about halfway along the highway, which was built between 1832 and 1850. Before that time, there were only rough mule tracks running between the villages, which today are used as breathtaking hiking trails (including the famed Path of the Gods).

Previously a parking lot, it’s now full of life, ready to be enjoyed by morning joggers, picnic-goers, strolling families and everyone in between..

"Trillium Park is part of a revitalization plan for Ontario Place. In 1971, Ontario Premier Bill Davis opened Ontario Place, which operated a season of events and entertainment annually from May to October. Ontario Place closed in 2012 after annual attendance fell from 2.5 million to 300,000. In 2012, the province appointed John Tory (who later became mayor of Toronto) to come up with ideas to revive the Ontario Place site. He recommended "Condos on the west island, a hotel or resort, corporate headquarters or educational research institute on no more than 15 per cent of the prime waterfront site" - ideas that resulted in a public backlash. In 2014, the Ontario Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Sport developed its own ideas for a "culture, discovery and innovation hub" with a "Blue Park" to include the Cinesphere and its elevated pods, a "Canal District", a "Celebration Common" and a park and trail. As of July 2017, only the latter two - Trillium Park and the William G. Davis Trail - were implemented with any further development yet to be defined." Wikipedia

Montreal is the most populous city in the Canadian province of Quebec and the second-most populous city in Canada. Originally founded in 1642 as Ville-Marie, or "City of Mary", it is named after Mount Royal, the triple-peaked hill in the heart of the city.

For over a century and a half, Montreal was the industrial and financial centre of Canada. This legacy has left a variety of buildings including factories, elevators, warehouses, mills, and refineries, that today provide an invaluable insight into the city's history, especially in the downtown area and the Old Port area. There are 50 National Historic Sites of Canada, more than any other city. -Wikipedia
